Dr. Michael Arreola, Executive Director of Secondary Leadership, GISD

Dr. Arreola attended Dallas ISD schools from K-12, an experience that ignited his passion for creating positive change in the education system. Throughout his years as an educator, Dr. Arreola had the privilege of serving in various leadership roles, including as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, and high school principal. During this time, his schools have achieved remarkable distinctions, including being recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, and leading the first A-rated high school in Garland ISD.

Dr. Arreola is deeply committed to providing a high-quality education for all students. He takes great pride in the achievements of the schools he has been part of, where they consistently earned the highest ratings from the Texas Education Agency each year.

Dr. Arreola previously served as the Director of Secondary Math and Science for Garland ISD from 2022 to December of 2023. Dr. Arreola has served as an Executive Director of Leadership for Secondary Schools and is currently serving as Garland ISD’s Assistant Superintendent of Leadership.

Dr. Arreola earned his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy through the prestigious Cooperative Superintendency Program at the University of Texas at Austin. When he is not in the office, he is spending time with his wife, Julie, a Reading/Language Arts teacher in Garland ISD and his 3 children; Joel, Isabella, and Jack.
